This page provides a brief overview of Standard materials. For information on the settings for Standard materials, see Settings for Standard Materials.
Standard materials in Twinmotion are relatively basic, but designed to be flexible. They will likely be the type of material you use most often, as they offer several settings to simulate a wide variety of simple and common materials.
The Standard material type can be opaque or masked.
You can find a large collection of Standard materials in the Twinmotion assets Library in the following categories: Metal, Concrete, Wood, Stones, Brick, Ground, Plastic, Wall coverings, Roof coverings, Ceilings, Grids, Marble and granite, Tiles, Leather, and Modeling.
In Twinmotion, each type of base material, such as Foliage, Fabric, and Glass, has unique settings, but they also share some of the settings for Standard materials. For example, Glass materials have an Index of refraction setting that is not used in other material types. However, Glass materials also have Standard material settings, such as the intensity of Roughness and UV adjustments.
You can create your own custom Standard materials in Twinmotion using the Standard base material type. For information on how to create materials, see Creating Materials.
