Chests and llamas are a great way to offer item bundles to players. When you are adding items to a chest, each time you click Add To Chest button the item count will increase by one.
You can add up to fifteen items to the Chest tab. When it's full, the Add To Chest button will disappear. You must remove items from the Chest tab to add more.
There are many ways to offer these items to players. You can add trap items to any device that spawns or grants items to players.
Managing Traps
You can manage traps in the player inventory. To access the player inventory, press Tab while you have your pickaxe equipped. Here, you can swap item positions or drop them from your Equipment bar.
You cannot reposition or copy trap items with the phone tool. To delete a trap item from your inventory in Create mode, you will have to select either Respawn or Back To Hub from the Sidebar. Doing this will clear your inventory.
Using Trap Items
Players can use equipped traps by pressing Y. Below is a list of trap items and how they work.
| Trap Item | Usage | |
|---|---|---|
Armored Wall | The Armored Wall can be placed directly on an island or used to transform a player-built structure into a stronger building piece. This trap can be destroyed with a pickaxe and has a health of 2,500. Players can equip up to 15 of this item in a stack. | |
Bouncer | The trap version of the Bouncer works similarly to the Bouncer devices, but it is not customizable. This will boost players into the air, and if the player is moving it will also boost them in the direction of their movement. | |
Chiller | The Chiller can be used to freeze a player's feet in a block of ice. While the ice is on their feet, they will skate around and it will be hard for them to stop or change direction. | |
**Cozy Campfire | The Cozy Campfire is the item version of the Campfire device. It automatically heals players within a certain radius, lights and extinguishes on interaction, and consumes wood. | |
Damage Trap | A Damage trap adds a status effect that instantly eliminates the triggering player. The Damage trap can be placed on regular walls, floors and ceilings, as well as player-built walls, floors and ceilings. | |
Full Damage Rail | Use the Damage Rails to cause contacting players to lose five points of health and to be knocked back from the device. The Full Damage Rail is two tiles long. | |
Half Damage Rail | Use the Damage Rails to cause contacting players to lose five points of health and to be knocked back from the device. The Half Damage Rail is one tile long. | |
Ice Block | Use the Ice Block trap to add a movement modifier that causes players to skid on contact. Players can control their direction, but won't stop sliding until they are off the trap. This trap can be placed on floor pieces. | |
Launch Pad | Use the Launch Pad to hurl players into the sky on contact. The players can then use their gliders to navigate down toward the ground. | |
Mounted Turret | Players can enter the turret by pressing E and leave the turret by holding E. Use your mouse to aim the turret's crosshairs and right-click to shoot. When shooting repeatedly, the turret's heat meter will slowly increase until it overheats. If it overheats, the turret will need to cool down before players can continue shooting. | |
Poison Dart Trap | A Poison Dart trap adds a status effect that poisons the triggering player. | |
Speed Boost | The Speed Boost trap increases speed and launches triggering players and vehicles in the direction of the boost's arrow. | |
Zapper Trap | The Zapper Trap can be thrown at enemy structures to cause 50 damage per second to nearby players. When thrown, this item will cover both sides of one building piece. Players can equip up to 4 of this item in a stack. |
