To sell your assets as products on Fab, you must set up a page called a "listing" and add your assets and products to it. The listing displays the products to buyers.
In Fab:
An asset is a standalone item, such as a 3D model, that you offer for sale or for free.
A product is a general way to refer to items for sale. Can be an individual asset or a pack.
A pack is a single product that contains many individual assets.
A listing is a page in Fab a publisher uses to offer products for sale or for free.
You publish a listing to make the listing visible, and the associated product available to buy or download.
To publish your assets, use this workflow:
Before you Begin (things you need to be aware of before you start)
See 1. Before you Begin on this page.
Create a listing, set the product details, and upload the assets.
See 2. Create or Edit a Listing on this page.
Send the listing to the Fab team for review.
See 3. Send Your Listing for Review on this page
Publish the listing.
See 4. Publish Your Listing on this page.
For information about the payments you receive for your products, see Publisher Get Started Guide–Payments.

Listing Guidelines
Your listings must follow the Fab technical requirements and content guidelines. For more information, see the following:
Listing Statuses
Every listing has a status that reflects its place in the workflow. The Listings page in Fab shows the status for each of your listings.
To go to the Listings page:
Sign in to Fab.
In the top navigation, click Publish.
Select Listings.
Listings can have one of the following statuses:
Draft: You created the listing, but haven't published it yet. You can still make changes to the listing before you publish it.Pending approval: You sent the listing to the Fab team for review.Changes needed: A listing can have this status in two situations:During review, the Fab team found one or more issues that you need to fix. Fix these issues and then send the listing for review again. See the section If Your Listing Does Not Pass Review on this page.
There was a problem with the listing when it was Live, such as violations of one or more of Fab's policies.
Approved: The Fab team reviewed the listing and approved it for publication. You can publish the listing. See the section If Your Listing Passes Review on this page.Pending Publication: The product listing is processing through our system. Once completed, it will go live.Live: The listing is published on Fab. Buyers can see the listing and buy or download the associated product. If you edit a live listing, Fab creates a duplicate listing that goes through moderation. Your original listing remains live during moderation.
Declined: The listing or the product has significant problems. You must create a new listing and go through the review process again.
Assets on Unreal Engine Marketplace or Sketchfab
If you have assets in Sketchfab, you can migrate them to Fab as products in new listings. For more information, see documentation: Migrating Your Assets to Fab.
Create a Fab Account
Before you can create a listing, you need to sign up for a Fab account, if you haven't done so already. For more information, see documentation: Publisher Get Started.
2. Create or Edit a Listing
To publish a product, you create a new listing and upload the product to the listing. You can pause work on the listing at any time and return to edit later.
When you create or edit a listing, you enter the details of the product associated with the listing. For information on best practice, see the Product Details section on this page.
You can only edit a listing if it has the Draft or Changes Needed statuses. For information on listing statuses, see the Listing Statuses section on this page.
If you want to edit a listing that is Pending Approval, you must cancel the submission first. See the Cancel a Publication Request section on this page.
To create or edit a listing:
Sign in to Fab.
In the top navigation, click Publish.
Select Listings.
Do the following to start a new listing or to edit an existing one:
To create a new listing, at the top right click Create new listing.
To open an existing one, click the listing.
Follow the on-screen instructions to enter the product details.
For information on best practices, see the Product Details section on this page.
To add an asset to the listing:
Click Add new format.
Click the asset format that you want to upload. For more information, see Asset File Format and Structure Requirements–File Format Requirements.
Repeat this step for each file that you want to add to the listing.
When you add a new file, Fab imports technical details from the file where possible. To manually add other details, in the INCLUDED FILES section on the left, click the file type. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to set the details.
To return to the listing details, click the listing name at the top left.
Use the Media Gallery section to upload 2D images or 3D models for your product. 3D models appear on your listing in the 3D viewer, where buyers can rotate and zoom the model. They are a good way to showcase 3D assets to buyers.
The files that you include in the Media Gallery do not need to depict files that you offer for download as part of the product. For example, you might show an example of an asset in a realistic context to demonstrate what a buyer can do with the asset. However, you must make it clear what your listing offers to buyers. For example, if your product is a 3D model of a car, but you show a car on a road in the Media Gallery, then you must clearly state in your listing that the road is not included in your product.
To set how a 3D model appears on your listing page:
In the Media Gallery, click the 3D model so that it appears in the preview.
Above the preview, click Edit 3D settings.
Use the 3D editor to adjust how the model appears. For more information, see Using the 3D Editor.
You can create a thumbnail image of your 3D model to display on your listing. To do so:
In the Media Gallery, click the 3D model so that it appears in the preview.
In the preview, use the 3D viewer controls to adjust the view of the model. For more information, see 3D Editor–3D Viewer.
Above the preview, click Save thumbnail.
Use the FAQs section to add questions that you either anticipate getting or have already received. To add questions and answers, click + Add FAQ and follow the on screen instructions.
Indicate whether to create a comment thread on the Epic Developer Community (EDC) for your listing, by selecting one of the following options.
No, do not create a forum post. Your listing does not generate a comment thread. You can add one to a published listing by editing it and selecting the forum post option then.
Yes, create a forum post. This generates a post in the Product Discussion section of the forum, with you as its author. Requires an active EDC account associated with the same Epic Games account as your Fab seller/publisher profile.
You cannot do the following:
Remove the link to the forum post from your listing once it's generated.
Add a link to an already existing forum thread to your listing.
To do either, you must contact the Fab support team.
To finish editing your listing, do one of the following:
To begin the process of publishing your listing, click Submit for Review. See 4. Publish Your Listing on this page.
To temporarily stop editing (so that you can resume editing it later), close the browser tab, or go to another page. At any time, you can open the listing and edit it from where you left off.
When you edit a listing, you can preview how it will appear to buyers on Fab. To do so, at the top of the page, click Preview listing. To return to the edit listing page, click Back to editing.
3. Send Your Listing for Review
Before you publish your listing, you must first submit it to the Fab team for review.
To submit your listing for review:
Sign in to Fab.
In the top navigation, click Publish.
Select Listings.
Click the listing that you want to publish.
Optional: To preview how the listing will appear to buyers on Fab, click Preview listing. To return to the edit listing page, click Back to editing.
At the top right, click Submit for review.
If you haven't completed all the mandatory product details, a warning icon appears next to the listing name at the top left of the page.
To go directly to the next missing mandatory detail, click the listing name at the top left of the page.
Fix all of the missing mandatory product details, then click Submit for review again.
Choose how Fab publishes your listing after review:
Automatic activation (recommended): After the Fab team finishes its review and approves your listing, the listing publishes automatically. You do not need to take any further action to publish the listing.
Manual activation: After the Fab team finishes its review and approves your listing, you must manually publish the listing.
If you change your mind after you submit your listing for review, you can cancel the submission. To do this, see the Cancel a Publication Request section on this page. You can only do this if the review is not yet complete.
4. Publish Your Listing
Review by the Fab Team
After you submit your product for review, the Fab team checks your listing to ensure that it meets the content and technical requirements. When the review is complete, you receive an email message notifying you of the team's decision.
Fab has a different set of content guidelines than Unreal Engine Marketplace or Sketchfab. Your assets might not pass review in Fab even though they passed review in Unreal Engine Marketplace or Sketchfab.
More information:
The Fab Terms of Service.
After your listing is published, you can make updates at any time. See Update Your Listing After Publish to learn more about which edits go live immediately and which are reviewed before appearing on Fab.
If Your Listing Passes Review
If your listing passes review, then it is ready to publish.
To publish your listing:
If you selected Automatic activation when you submitted the review, Fab automatically publishes the listing. You do not need to take any action.
If you selected Manual activation when you submitted the review, then you must manually publish the listing. To do this:
Open the listing.
At the top right of the page, click Publish.
If Your Listing Does Not Pass Review
Carefully review the Fab content and policy guidelines, edit your listing to make the necessary changes, and submit it for review again. See the section 2. Create or Edit a Listing on this page.
Update Your Listing After Publish
After your product is live on Fab, it is best to keep it current, whether due to additional features added, bug fixes, creative changes, or new engine or DCC version releases. Keeping your product up to date is vital to being a Fab publisher.
To update your listing, follow these steps:
In the top navigation click the Publish tab.
Select Listings.
Click the product you want to update.
Make changes to your listing.
At the top of the page, click the Submit for review.
You can use the Changelog field when updating your listing to note what has changed. This helps users understand what is new and keeps your release history organized.
After you submit for review, two statuses will appear on your product. Live, and Update - Pending approval. The current version of your product stays live while your changes are reviewed.
Most updates are processed within 24 hours. However, in rare cases, changes may be needed. If so, the Fab team will contact you with additional instructions to complete your update.
While in review, you cannot change the updates on a listing until Fab completes the pending update. If you must, you can cancel the update, which returns the Update - Pending Approval status to Draft.
After you receive confirmation that the update is processed, the listing will show Pending Publication for a short time, and then the new version of your listing will go live.
If something is incorrect, you can submit another update to correct the issue or contact the Fab team directly by submitting a support case on our help site.
The following sections show how to update specific formats on your listing.
Review Requirements for Listing Updates
When you update your listing, Fab determines whether your changes need review. Some changes can be published immediately, while others still need to be reviewed. Use the table below to see which types of updates require a review.

DCC and Exchange Formats
You may want to update your asset with new or updated files. Whether it's to fix a bug, add new features, or an optimization pass.
To update your assets in a listing, follow these steps:
From the listing navigate to Included Files, click the file type you’d like to update.
At the top of the next page, click Replace file.
Choose the new file that you’d like to upload.
When uploading Unreal Engine (UE), Unity, or Exchange Format files, the Technical details section automatically fills out but you may need to fill in some fields manually. We recommend checking over each field to ensure that all information is correct.
Unreal Engine Formats
If your Unreal Engine files only contain content (everything except code plugins) you should rarely need to update the actual UE files. Even after a new engine release, the majority of the time, you can tick the compatibility box for the new engine version and save your listing.
However, you are expected to provide an update to your UE files shortly after each new engine release for the following:
Incompatibility issues
A bug is found in your product
Additional features
Optimization updates
Creating a new project version, changing the project file link of a pre-existing project version, or changing the distribution method requires you to generate a new build for the product's downloadable files.
To update a file or add a new engine version, follow these steps:
From the listing, navigate to the Included files section.
Click the version you would like to update.
Select to edit an existing version or create a new version. The following table describes both options.
Edit Existing Version | Provides the following options:
|
Create New Version | Provides the option to add new files for a new engine version. |
After you have made your changes, we recommend reviewing all fields on this page to ensure everything is correct.
For code plugins and testing, note the following:
Code Plugins: Always require an updated project to be submitted, even if the plugin works as expected in the latest engine release. You must upload a new .uplugin project to your listing per engine version. Depending on engine compatibility, it can range from adding the latest engine version key to the .uplugin file to submitting a complete update that includes numerous code changes.
Testing: Trying out your product in early preview builds of a new engine version can be beneficial. Still, it's usually unnecessary since most Fab products are compatible with new engine versions by default.
However, any product that uses Blueprints or code in any way may need to be updated to function as intended in a new engine version. Consider testing these projects in preview builds to understand what you must update for the official engine release.
Unity Formats
We recommend updating your Unity files for bug fixes, adding performance improvements, introducing new features to your product, and adding compatibility with additional renderers or the most recent version of Unity.
To update Unity formats, follow these steps:
From the listing, navigate to the Included files section.
Click Unity.
At the top of the next page, click Replace file and choose a file to update.
After uploading the new file, we recommend reviewing all fields on this page to ensure everything is correct. When we receive the request, we will process the newest version and inform you once this operation is complete.
Suppose you would like to add compatibility for multiple Unity render pipelines. In that case, you can upload additional Unity files with different Render pipelines in a .zip format using the Add new format button on the listing, and then choosing Additional files.
Unlist (Unpublish) or Delete a Listing
You can unlist (unpublish) a listing on Fab, or delete the listing entirely.
Unlist a listing: You can unlist (unpublish) a live listing. (A live listing is a listing that is currently published on Fab.)
When you unlist a listing, it becomes unavailable to view on Fab, which means that no-one can buy the associated product.
Buyers who already bought the product can still download it.
Delete a listing: If you delete a listing, you completely remove it from Fab.
The listing is no longer visible to buyers on Fab.
Buyers who already bought the product can still download it.
The listing is no longer visible in your Listings page on Fab.
You cannot delete a listing if at least one person has purchased it. However, you can unlist (unpublish) the listing (see above for details).
You cannot delete a listing that is pending approval. To delete a listing in this state you must first cancel the publication request or wait for the review to finish. See the Cancel a Publication Request section on this page.
To unlist or delete a listing:
Sign in to Fab.
In the top navigation, click Publish.
Select Listings.
Click the listing that you want to unlist or delete.
At the bottom of the listing, click Unlist listing or Delete listing as appropriate.
Cancel a Publication Request
After you send a listing for review, you might want to cancel the review and publication of the listing. You might want to do this in the following situations:
You no longer want to publish the listing.
You want to change the listing before you publish it.
To cancel a publication request:
Sign in to Fab.
In the top navigation, click Publish.
Select Listings.
Click the listing whose review you want to cancel.
At the top right of the page, click Cancel submission.
If you want to change the listing, you can now open and edit it. For information, see the section 2. Create or Edit a Listing on this page.
Product Details
When you enter product details, follow the recommendations in this section to make your product easier for Fab users to find and to make sure that they know what your product offers.
When your asset is in one of the following formats, Fab automatically populates as many product details as possible from information in the file. This includes details such as the vertex count, face count, and the number of textures. You can edit these automatically-populated details in the same way as you edit any other product details.
Fab automatically populates product details for the following asset types:
3D exchange formats supported by Fab
For information about which assets are supported by Fab, see Asset File Format and Structure Requirements.

Title
To make your product easier for buyers to find, choose a title that accurately describes your product in a clear and concise way (ideally 30 characters or less). Do not include sensitive or personal data in the title.
Description
Enter a narrative explanation of the following:
What your product is.
How to use it.
Relevant technical details.
Include information that you think potential customers might want to know. For example, you might include the following details:
Product overview
What assets are included in this product?
How might a buyer use the product?
What type of theme does the content fit under (for example fantasy forest or medieval dungeon)?
Additional technical details: Information to supplement the details you provided in the technical details section.
Other things you might mention:
How many assets are included in the product?
What are the specs and size?
What type of platform, software, or systems is the product compatible with?
Are there prerequisites to using the product?
You can include links to additional resources (such as a promotional video, code library, or Epic Developer Community product support page).
Do not share sensitive data like IDs, credentials, or non-public information in the description.
Category
Choose the category that best classifies your product. Your listing appears under this category on Fab. You can classify your product in more detail with the subcategory. The category and subcategories help buyers find your listing on Fab.
Subcategory
Choose one or more subcategories that classify your product in more detail in the category that you selected. The category and subcategories help buyers find your listing on Fab.
Tags
To make your listing easier for buyers to find, select relevant tags that are appropriate to your content. Select keywords that describe your product's appearance, content, and capabilities. Buyers who filter their searches by these tags are more likely to see your product.
Consider how specific the tag is and what criteria the tag represents for your content. For example, if your product is a 3D model of a detailed piece of machinery, you could use "Realistic" to indicate the art style, "Industrial" to describe the theme, and "Metal" to describe the material.
You might want to choose tags related to moods or emotions that customers might search for, such as "happy woman" or "creepy forest".
For discoverability, you can set your products to have the following tags that align with filters such as Rendering Styles and Materials.

License Type and Price
For more information on Fab licenses and pricing, see the Licenses and Pricing page.
The price you select is the base price of your product in US dollars. Note that VAT or other taxes might be added to the base price for some regions.
Thumbnail Image
Make sure the thumbnail image is clear, easy to understand, and properly represents your product.
Images
Images are straightforward, visual representations of your content. For content such as 3D environments and 2D assets, include several different screenshots to help customers better visualize your product.
For packs or environments with multiple assets, include overview images that show all assets arranged in a grid pattern on a plain-colored background.
Mature Content
You can include mature content in your listing. However, Fab restricts the content from the general audience's view. Mature content is material not suitable for all audiences, such as violence, gore, and sexual or adult themes. You must list applicable products as mature at the time of submission.
Some of the more commonly missed reasons that a product may need to be declared as mature are the inclusion or reference to the following:
Alcohol
Tobacco
Prescription medications
Or paraphernalia associated with the use of such listed items.
Additionally, if you link to other URLs on your listing, the content on those pages is also factored into the tags applied to your product. For example, if your new listing links to your publisher page on Fab, or any other page, that shows mature products, your new listing is considered mature content as well. You must submit your mature products for it to be blurred appropriately.
To learn more about mature content, see the Epic Games Content Guidelines.
