Licenses
Fab offers the following license types:
- Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) (Free)
- Standard (Free or For Sale)
The NoAI meta tag and Creative Commons Attribution licenses
The NoAI meta tag indicates that an asset must not be used for generative AI data collection. However, NoAI meta tags might not be compatible with Creative Commons licenses. This means that you cannot offer an asset with the NoAI meta tag under the Creative Commons Attribution license. In order to be able to use the NoAI tag you must offer the asset under the Standard license.
The Standard license type has the following price tiers: Personal and Professional.
The Personal tier may include a Reference Only version for Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) content. This version provides access to a UEFN asset through its Verse path.
Publishers must offer their products under the Personal tier and the Professional tier. They can set the same price for both tiers, or different prices for each tier.
Buyers must choose the appropriate price tier, based on their revenue in the last 12 months, as follows:
-
Personal: For buyers who have not generated more than $100,000 USD in gross revenue from commercial activity in the last 12 months.
-
Professional: For buyers who have generated more than $100,000 USD in gross revenue from commercial activity in the last 12 months.
For more information on how the Personal and Professional tier thresholds are calculated, see the Fab End User License Agreement.
If a publisher moves their products from Unreal Engine Marketplace to Fab, their products might temporarily be available on Fab under the legacy UE Marketplace License.
-
If the legacy UE Marketplace License applies to a product, it is noted on the listing for the product, in the Details section on the right side of the page.
-
This license applies to the product until the publisher finishes updating their products.
-
Epic Games is phasing out the UE Marketplace License. This means that new products cannot be published under that license.
If you are a publisher who is migrating assets from Unreal Engine Marketplace or Sketchfab, see the Migrating Assets to Fab page for information about pricing and licensing on your migrated listings.
Pricing
Keep the following in mind when setting prices:
- Publishers set product base prices in US Dollars.
- VAT and additional tax might be added to the base price for buyers in some regions.
- If you are a publisher, we recommend that you perform your own marketing research when planning your pricing.
When a publisher sets the price on a product, they select from a preset list of prices. The available prices are structured in the price ranges shown below. For example, available prices in the $100-$150 USD price range are in increments of $5 USD. The publisher can select a price in this range of $104.99 USD, $109.99 USD, and so on, up to $149.99 USD. All prices end in .99, except $0.00.
If you need to set a price for your product that is higher than $1500 USD, please contact Fab Support.
