Use the Head Sculpt tool to make precise, localized adjustments to a small area of your character's face. The tool places a series of sculpting markers on your character for you to adjust. Your changes with the controls are driven by the MetaHuman Creator (MHC) database of real-world human scans.
The Head Sculpt tool is available from the Head and Body tool category in MetaHuman Creator.
Using the Tool
When you open the tool, the viewport displays sculpting markers on your character.
The general workflow for using the tool is as follows:
Drag the markers to reshape individual facial features.
Add, remove, and constrain markers to control how your edits are applied.
The underlying system that drives MetaHuman sculpting finds the closest combination of real human facial features scanned into the MetaHuman database and approximates what you sculpt.

Sculpting with Markers
Drag any sculpting marker to change the facial feature it controls.
Each marker influences a limited, specific area, but the influence areas of some markers overlap. For example, the area around the eyes has two markers under the brow ridge and another four that handle the top eyelid, bottom eyelid, inner canthus, and outer canthus. All of these markers can influence the eye's size and position.
Adding and Removing Markers
To add a marker, Ctrl + click on the face where you want it placed. To remove a marker, Ctrl + click the marker you want to remove.
Symmetry
By default, your changes are symmetrical. To make non-symmetrical changes, uncheck Symmetric Manipulation.
Keep in mind that enabling Symmetric Manipulation on asymmetric facial features retains some essence of the asymmetry in regions where you later use the sculpting marker to change the sculpt.
Tool Settings
The following settings control how sculpting markers behave and how your edits are applied to the face.
Manipulator
| Property | Description |
|---|---|
Size | Scales the on-screen size of the sculpting markers so you can click them precisely. Default 1.0. |
Speed | Sets how quickly a marker responds as you drag it. Default 0.2. |
Symmetric Manipulation | Applies your changes symmetrically across both sides of the face. Enabled by default. Uncheck to make non-symmetrical changes. |
Hide While Dragging | Hides the sculpting markers while you drag so you can see the result unobstructed. Enabled by default. |
When you enable Symmetric Manipulation, asymmetric facial features retain some of the asymmetry in regions where you later use the sculpting marker to change the sculpt.
Head Parameters
| Property | Description |
|---|---|
Global Delta | Controls the overall strength of the applied change (the vertex delta) across the head. Default 1.0. |
Head Scale | Scales the overall size of the head. Default 1.0. |
Reset Head Parameters | Resets the head parameters to their default values. |
Align Neck to Body | Realigns the neck to the body to keep a seamless transition after you edit the head. |
