MetaHuman characters and MetaHuman-compatible assets are available on Fab. These assets are grouped into various product types that you can download individually for your MetaHumans, such as grooms and outfits. For a full list, see MetaHuman Product Types.
You can search, acquire, and download MetaHuman products the same as any other content from the Fab website and the Unreal Engine (UE) integration.
Products that use the MetaHuman Package format (.mhpkg) have been verified, and work with the MetaHuman Creator in Unreal Engine.
To learn the general workflow for the Fab browser, see Purchasing and Downloading Assets. For more information on the UE integration, see Fab in Unreal Engine.
Download MetaHuman Products
To acquire MetaHuman assets for your UE project, follow these steps:
In UE 5.6, click Windows > Fab to open the plugin or visit Fab.com.
Use the Discover view to search for MetaHuman characters or MetaHuman-compatible assets.
You can use the product list and filter menu to refine your search to MetaHuman content. If using the Fab website, you can also use the MetaHuman channel.
Check the technical details for the listing to ensure it meets your requirements. MetaHuman-compatible products are not compatible with Unreal Engine versions prior to 5.6.
For example, Skeletal Clothing is not resized automatically when worn by a character with a different body shape, which might not be compatible with your character.
Acquire the products to add them to your library.
Open your library from the integration, or the Epic Games Launcher.
Click Add To Project.
Assembled characters are added to /Game/MetaHumans, this is the same location used by the Quixel Bridge MetaHuman import process. All other types of assets are added to the /Game/Fab/MetaHumans folder.
Optionally, you can download additional files (including for other DCCs such as Maya) from the Fab website.
