Twinmotion 2025.1.1 is now available.
You can download and install the latest release from the Epic Games Launcher on your computer.
If you're a new user, you can get started here.
Feel free to start a New Discussion in the Twinmotion Forum to share your thoughts on this release. If you need to report a bug regarding this release please contact Customer Support.
Twinmotion 2025.1.1 is a new version. You can open projects created and saved in previous versions. However, projects created and saved in 2025.1.1 will not open in previous versions.
Twinmotion is now packaged as a universal application, meaning it natively supports both Intel and Apple Silicon processors like the M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max, M2, and newer chips. The packaging for the architecture of both processors slightly increases the package size. Compiling for Apple Silicon ensures Twinmotion takes full advantage of its high performance and low power consumption.

What’s New
3D Grass Material
Speed up the process for scattering a dense and luxurious lawn in your scenes in no time at all.
Thanks to the new 3D Grass material, you can easily add photorealistic and customizable three-dimensional grass into your scenes. The 3D grass material populates and follows the geometry of surfaces and objects, regenerates every time you update your 3D model, and follows the transformation of objects and surfaces.
From freshly cut lawns to fields of grass, adapt its appearance by adjusting its cutting height, tint, and fuzziness in just a few clicks.
You can find the 3D Grass material in the Materials category in the Twinmotion Library.
For more information, see 3D Grass Material.
Limitations
The 3D Grass material cannot be applied on animated objects.
In the Lumen rendering mode, the 3D grass is only visible in SSR reflections. 3D grass that is not visible in the viewport is not visible in reflections.
NVIDIA DLSS 4 Support
Support for the latest improvements of NVIDIA series 20 to 50 graphics cards. Based on neural rendering technologies, these improvements combine multiple features that enhance visuals, improve stability, and boost real-time scene performance.
You can access the DLSS 4 settings in the Twinmotion Preferences panel, in the Super Resolution settings section.
For more information about NVIDIA DLSS, see this page.
For information about the DLSS 4 settings in the Preferences panel, see Twinmotion Preferences.
Limitations
DLSS 4 and its features are strongly dependent on the capabilities of the graphics card being used on the computer. For information about the requirements, see this page.
Configurations Improvements
The following improvements have been made to configurations:
Configurations can now be added to Presentations and exported to Twinmotion Cloud.
Added support for creating configurations based on transforms.
Objects in the scene can be used for triggering actions.
Thumbnails can be automatically captured when creating new states.
Enhanced the position of the 3D trigger by casting a ray in the middle of the screen and placing the trigger next to the first geometry the ray hits.
SVG files can be used for triggers and state thumbnails.
The resolution of thumbnails for states can be increased in the Preferences panel.
3D triggers in configurations appear as elements in the Scene graph.
Clay Material
Mainly intended for the automotive industry, 10 new clay materials have been added to the Twinmotion Library in the Materials > Modeling category.
The new clay materials come in a wide range of variations and colors and can be used from rough to final prototyping.
Disable Cloud Exports
Primarily aimed at large companies that want to secure their projects, you can now disable the Twinmotion Cloud export feature in the Twinmotion offline installer (.msi
file) and in the Twinmotion installation options in the Epic Launcher.
When cloud exports are disabled, Panorama Sets and Presentations cannot be exported to Twinmotion Cloud.
Orbit Navigation Improvements
We have added two new orbit navigation modes.
Around a point: By default, this mode orbits the viewport camera around the center of the Twinmotion world. You can change the location of the orbit's origin by double right-clicking in the scene, or clicking the Orbit point icon in the toolbar and clicking once in the scene. A visual helper that is temporarily displayed shows the new location of the orbit point, and the camera repositions itself so that the new orbit point is in the center of the viewport.
Around the center of the viewport: The camera orbits around the center of the viewport.
Orbiting around the mouse pointer continues to be Twinmotion's default orbit mode.
If you select the Orbit around selection check box, you can now orbit around a selected object and override the selected orbit navigation mode.
You can choose the orbit navigation mode in the Prerefences panel, under Settings > Navigation.
For more information about the orbit modes, see Twinmotion Preferences.
Camera Inertia and Scroll Wheel Speed
A new Camera inertia setting that can be adjusted from 0% to 100% is now available in the Preferences panel under Settings > Navigation. This option enables smoother, more fluid navigation in the viewport by adding gradual acceleration and deceleration to camera movements.
Additionally, you can now control the navigation speed when moving forward or backward in the scene by rotating the mouse wheel and pressing one of the Speed keys (1 to 6).
Modeling Tools Improvements
We have improved the user experience of the modeling tools and added some new features:
Faces and normals can now be edited in the same tab (Faces).
Selected faces can be detached from objects.
Added a Merge tool: Merge multiple objects into one.
Added a Split tool: Split objects based on connected polygon groups or material ID.
Mirror tool improvements: Added an Apply button in the Mirror tab to avoid double mirroring scenarios.
For an overview of the modeling tools in Twinmotion, see Modeling Tools.
XYZ Panel and Coordinates
The XYZ panel has been redeveloped to support the following changes:
World or relative coordinates: For more flexibility, you can now transform and view transform information in either World space or Relative space.
Calculated values: You can now use mathematical expressions in the fields (addition, multiplication, etc.) to output calculated values, for example: (12m+4*5cm)/2. You can use any supported unit system in the expression, regardless of the unit system currently selected in the Preferences panel.
Copy and paste object transforms: You can now copy all or only certain transform values (position, rotation, and scale) and paste them on another object.
Reset transform values: You can now reset transform values to 0,0,0. Depending on whether you use world or relative space, the object returns to the center of the scene or to its position relative to its parent object.
For more information on the XYZ panel, see The XYZ Panel.
Unit System: Millimeter Mode
Millimeters are now available as an option in the Unit system section in the Settings tab of the Preferences panel. Note that the unit system you select also changes the unit system used in the XYZ panel.
Edit Pivot Tools
The Edit pivot feature now contains a menu with a set of tools for easier pivot editing operations.
Reset: Resets modified pivot point position and / or rotation values to their initial values.
Center pivot: Aligns the pivot point to the center of selected objects.
Center pivot down: Aligns the pivot point to the center and bottom of selected objects, making it easier to manipulate and snap objects on the ground.
Align to world: Aligns the pivot point of selected objects to the Z-axis in world space. This can be used to fix the orientation of objects that are not correctly oriented.
For information on the Edit pivot tool and the options, see The Toolbar.
Path Tracer Fireflies Slider
The Path Tracer Fireflies setting slider is now on a logarithmic scale. This setting limits the maximum accumulated intensity relative to the current exposure. In 2025.1.0, this slider controlled values over a large range that was difficult to control. They have been translated to lower values that are more manageable.
