To create a scene state, you modify the visibility status of the elements in a scene using the Scene graph and then save this status with the Scene States tool. The current visibility status of the elements in the Scene graph (and consequently the Viewport) are saved in the scene state.
There is more than one workflow that you can use to create scene states. The sequence of steps can vary depending on how you prefer to work in Twinmotion. The instructions below are meant to give you an example only of one possible workflow.
Creating a Scene State
The Scene graph and the Scene States tool are both situated in the Scene graph panel. To open the Scene graph, click the Arrow icon in the upper-left side of the Viewport.
The Scene graph is displayed. The Scene graph contains all the elements of the scene, and each one is listed on its own separate layer, or grouped into a layer.
In the Scene graph, click the header of the lower section and in the menu, select Scene states.
To expand the Scene States tool, click the Arrow icon.
Depending on what you want to show or hide in the scene state, modify the visibility status of elements in the scene by clicking the Eye icon to the left of the elements in the Scene graph. The changes that you make in the Scene graph are reflected in the Viewport.

To show or hide several elements in the Scene graph at once, do one of the following:
Click and hold the left mouse button on one of the Eye icons, and then move up or down the Scene graph to show or hide the elements.
Press Ctrl or Shift and select multiple items, and then click one of the Eye icons.
In the Scene States tool, click the Add a new scene state icon.
A new scene state is created.
For each subsequent scene state that you want to create, repeat steps 4 and 5.
You can preview each scene state in the Viewport by clicking on each scene state in the Scene States tool.
Updating Scene States
If you want to update an existing scene state, modify the visibility status of the elements in the Scene graph, and then click the Refresh icon next to the scene state.
Adding Library Assets to Scene States
You can add assets from the Twinmotion Library to a scene and modify their visibility status for each scene state. These Library assets include all the items in the Vegetation and landscape, Objects, Lights, Quixel Megascans, Characters, Vehicles, Tools, and User Library categories.
The Library also contains the Materials and HDRI Environments categories. However, you cannot change the material of an object or the High Dynamic Range Image (HDRI) environment per scene state. If you change the material of an object, it will be changed in all the scene states in which the object appears. Likewise, if you select a new HDRI environment for your scene, it will be applied to all the scene states.
If you want to show an object using different materials in each scene state, you can create a duplicate of the object, modify the material of the duplicate, and then show or hide the original or the duplicate object depending on the scene state you want to create.
Adding Library Assets to Specific Scene States Only
Each scene state has a checkbox to the left of its name.
If you add a Library asset to a scene, it will automatically be added to all scene states that have selected checkboxes. To add a Library asset to a specific scene state only, deselect the checkboxes of the other scene states in which you don’t want the asset to appear.
In the example below, a Library asset is added to the scene. It is only visible in Scene State 1, as this scene state is the only one that is selected.
Managing Scene States
Each scene state has a menu where you can Rename, Delete, and Refresh the scene state. You can also use the Move up and Move down commands in the menu to reorganize the scene states.
In the Scene States tool, hover over a scene state.
Click the ellipsis (...) that appears to the right of the scene state.
In the Scene States menu, select a command.
