After creating an audio, video, or Live Link Face subject using Live Link, it can be connected to a MetaHuman character for preview in MetaHuman Creator, or an assembled MetaHuman that has been added to a level. Once connected, the character will animate in real time.
Preview in MetaHuman Creator
A Live Link subject can be used as the Animation Controller in the Preview Settings of MetaHuman Creator. This will allow you to preview a character before assembly, directly within the MetaHuman Character asset editor.
In MetaHuman Creator (the MetaHuman Character asset editor), open the Preview Settings.
Navigate to the Animation section.
Set the Animation Controller to LiveLink.
Select the correct subject from the Live Link Subject Name drop down.
MetaHuman Assembly in a Level
A Live Link subject can be used to drive an assembled MetaHuman character that has been placed in a level.
Use the UE Cine or UE Optimized assembly pipeline on a MetaHuman Character asset to assemble the MetaHuman for Unreal Engine.
Use the character blueprint to add the character to a level, and open the details panel of the Blueprint for the character.
Navigate to the Live Link section, and select the subject in the Live Link Subject field.
Ensure Use Live Link is checked.
