Twinmotion is a graphics-intensive application that relies heavily on the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) of your computer. The GPU is a specialized processor designed for real-time 3D graphics. The Statistics in Twinmotion show real-time data about the usage percentage of the GPU, but they also provide real-time notifications about the usage percentage of the GPU’s Random Access Memory (RAM).
The usage percentage of the GPU’s RAM varies depending on the complexity of the scene and the amount of memory on your computer’s GPU. A high usage percentage value sometimes results in crashes, especially when exporting media. With the GPU RAM Diagnostics, you can monitor the GPU’s RAM usage and take preventive steps to avoid sudden crashes. If the percentage is at a high level, simplifying the scene by removing elements can reduce the GPU RAM usage.
When the GPU RAM usage is equal to or less than 59%, notifications are not displayed. When it is higher than 59%, several levels of notifications are provided as follows:
| Level | Color | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
60 to 69% | Green | Acceptable | |
70 to 79% | Yellow | Caution | |
80 to 89% | Orange | Warning | |
90% and up | Red | Critical |
These notifications appear on the Scene States, BIM Information, Transform, and Statistics headers.
