The Developer Wallet is where V-Bucks payouts are added, with V-Bucks being the default method for payouts in the Fortnite Developer Program.
It includes an activity feed that tracks all V-Bucks added to your Developer Wallet, received by you through the Fortnite Developer Program from engagement payouts and in-island transactions, as well as V-Bucks spent from the Developer Wallet.
Once you complete your Tax Profile and Hyperwallet setup, you can request Epic to convert any eligible V-Bucks that you have collected in your Developer Wallet to real money payouts.
V-Bucks are distributed in increments of 50. During payout, any remainder below 50 rolls into your next payout once your balance reaches 50 or more.
V-Bucks Payouts
V-Bucks are awarded monthly, using the same formula and schedule as engagement payout calculations for USD rewards. Any earnings from in-island transactions will be added on the same schedule.
Any V-Bucks you've purchased or earned in-game must be spent from your account before V-Bucks from the Developer Wallet are available to spend.
How to Cash Out
To convert your V-Bucks to real money, you first need to complete your Tax Profile and Hyperwallet setup. Once that's done:
Epic will convert any eligible V-Bucks balance to real money in a one-time conversion.
Depending on when setup is completed, your first real money payout may arrive the following month.
All future engagement payouts and earnings from in-island transactions are then paid directly to your Hyperwallet account in real money ($USD).
You will no longer be eligible to receive V-Bucks payouts once you successfully set up your real money payouts.
Any eligible V-Bucks that Epic converts to real money as part of this process cannot be converted back to V-Bucks.
V-Bucks spent in-game are permanently non-cashable, though they remain eligible to be rolled back due to moderation or account actions. Only awarded V-Bucks that haven't been spent can be converted to cash.
Minimum Payout Threshold
A minimum payout threshold of $100 USD within a 12-month window applies to real money payouts. If your balance is under $100, you can choose to:
Continue being rewarded in V-Bucks, or
Let your balance count toward a future payout until you reach the threshold, or
Keep your V-Bucks in Fortnite instead of applying them toward your payout threshold.
