Like other NPCs, Sidekicks can inflict and receive damage during gameplay. This is useful for game loops where Sidekicks assist players in PVP battle, protect payloads, hunt NPCs, or face off in arena combat.
Not all types of damage can injure a Sidekick. Only certain weapons, and the splash damage caused by those weapons can do damage. Splash damage affects a small area of the map where a projectile weapon impacts it, such as when using a launcher.

Environmental damage (such as storm damage, physics, or fall damage) does not affect Sidekicks without additional Verse code.
Adjust Sidekick Health
To adjust the difficulty of your game loop, you can change the amount of health or shield a Sidekick has. Health represents the Sidekick’s hit points and shield acts as a damage buffer.
You can adjust both the health and shield amounts through the Health Modifier in UEFN or through the healthful and shieldable Verse interfaces.

Make a Sidekick Invulnerable
Some game loops benefit from making Sidekicks invulnerable to all damage. In non-combat games, you can use Sidekicks for puzzle solving, creature collection, walking sims, or pet care sims.
Invulnerability is controlled by the Is Vulnerable option in the Health Modifier.
