Xcode 16 is not supported in UE 5.4.3 or earlier, and attempting to use it will result in errors. Experimental support is available in UE 5.4.4, but we do not recommend using it for shipping. Make sure you are using a compatible version of Xcode for your UE version.

This page contains the software development kit (SDK) requirements needed to develop Unreal Engine (UE) projects for iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS devices, as well as compatible hardware for the current version of UE.

Current Compatible Devices

UE 5.4 supports iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS devices that support version 14 and higher for their respective SDKs and use an Apple A8 processor or later. The following are the minimum compatible device models:

- iPad 5th generation or later
- iPad Air 2* or later
- iPad Mini 4* or later
- iPad Pro (all models)
tvOS 15
- Apple TV HD*
- Apple TV 4K (first generation)
- Apple TV 4K (second generation)

*Apple A8/A8X-based devices (iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 4 and Apple TV HD) require a project setting for support to be enabled. Some rendering features may be limited on A8/A8X devices.
