The Blend tool in MetaHuman Creator blends between three to six existing MetaHuman Presets to change the shape of your MetaHuman’s facial features.
Blending is a destructive operation, which means it overwrites any changes already made using the Sculpt or Move tool. Use it as a way to quickly get a rough approximation of the features you want before you start sculpting.
There are two ways to open the Blend tool:
Click the Blend option in the left-hand menu.
Click the Blend button on the Sculpting Toolbar.
How It Works
When you open the Blend tool, you will see a blank Influence Circle (1) and a list of MetaHuman Presets (2), as shown below.
Drag any Preset to a slot on the Influence Circle. After you’ve added three Presets, three additional slots will appear. You can add up to six Presets.
After you’ve assigned at least three Presets to the Influence Circle, the Viewport will automatically display a series of control points on your MetaHuman’s face. Click and drag the control points on your MetaHuman’s face to move them between the Presets assigned to the Influence Circle. As the control point moves closer to a Preset, their facial features will blend with those of your MetaHuman.
If you’ve already used the Move or Sculpt tools to modify your MetaHuman, blending will gradually overwrite your changes. The further you move the control point on a marker towards an influence point away from the center, the less influence the original move or sculpt will have. Moving a control marker back to the center does not bring back move or sculpt changes.
The video below demonstrates the Blend tool in action.
Remember, you can rotate the light in the Viewport by holding down the L key and moving the mouse around. This can help you see features of your MetaHuman’s face better.
To remove a Preset, hover over its slot and click the Close (x) button. You can also move Presets to different slots on the circle, as shown below.
Moving a Preset to a different slot or removing it will immediately remove its influence over all of the facial features it previously affected. Use with caution.
The video below shows how to move Presets between slots, and what happens if a Preset that already influences a feature is moved to a different slot.
