Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) includes templates that you can use to start your own island project. You can find all of the available templates on the Project Browser screen when you start a new project.
Some templates are designed to demonstrate specific game modes or mechanics and how they work:
Feature examples showcase game mechanics for specific features.
Sample projects are tutorial islands, with billboards that explain how the game was built.
All of these templates designed to help you learn more about workflows while demonstrating design concepts. They are starting points for your own project, or a hands-on way to quickly learn how to implement one or more features in UEFN or Verse.
You can alter any template island to fit your own design by introducing water elements and custom landscaping.
Some project templates have accompanying tutorials that guide you through selecting a template, finding and placing props, and using the device direct-binding system as you build your island. You'll find these tutorials below.
Make a Template Island Your Own
Once you open a project template, you can access any assets in the template from the Content Browser.
To add assets to your island, drag devices, prefabs, props, and more into the viewport.
Find replacement buildings or devices by searching through the folders in the Content Browser. You can even import assets, or find additional free and paid assets through Fab.
