Fortnite Creative is a sandbox game where you can create and save your island experience using the Creative toolset.
Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) is a game engine system composed of a collection of editors that let you build your terrain, and add props and game mechanics with more control that you have in Fortnite, and where you can also add other features, like controlled lighting and sculpt your landscapes to make your games even more uniquely yours.
Verse is a programming language designed to work both within and outside of game design. UEFN includes an interface that you can use to customize devices even further using Verse.
Together, these apps make up Fortnite.
To use any of these tools, you will need to:
Create an Epic Games account if you don't already have one.
Download the Epic Games Launcher.
From the launcher, download Fortnite.
From the launcher, download Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). Verse downloads with UEFN.

Fortnite Creative

UEFN
To use UEFN, you will need a PC. Note that UEFN runs on PCs only.

Set Up Your Epic Games Account
If you don’t already have an Epic Games account, you’ll need one.
Go to www.epicgames.com.
Click Sign In.
Click Sign Up.
Enter your date of birth.
If you are under 13 years old, you’ll need a parent or guardian to create your account for you.
Enter any other requested information to complete your account registration.
Install the Launcher
With your Epic Games account in place, it's time to install the Epic Games Launcher.
Navigate to www.epicgames.com.
Click Download.
Download the launcher.
Install the launcher.
Download and Launch Fortnite
With the launcher open, install Fortnite.
Search for Fortnite.
Click the Fortnite tile, then click Download.
Click Place Order. You will not be charged for this order.
Click Owned.
Go to your Library and select Fortnite.
If prompted, read and accept the Epic Games Terms of Service.
Choose your install location (or accept the default location) and click Install.
Navigate back to your Library and select Fortnite to launch it.
Fortnite offers parental controls to help parents control what a player can see and do inside of Fortnite. Depending on the platform, there may be additional controls available. To learn more, read about Fortnite Parental Controls.
Once you've installed Fortnite:
From the launcher, go to Library.
Use the search window to search for Fortnite.
Click the tile to launch it.
Once you've launched it the first time, you will be able to launch it from the Quick Launch menu.
Access Fortnite Creative
When you launch Fortnite, it opens on the Discover page.
Click the Creative tile to access Fortnite Creative.
If you don't see the Creative tile on this page, you can search for it.
Click Creative, then click Select. This takes you to the Creative hub.
Use the golden rift to enter Creative.
Download and Launch UEFN
You don't have to download Fortnite and UEFN in this order, but you will need Fortnite installed when you use UEFN because UEFN uses Fortnite for playtesting.
When you download UEFN, it also installs Visual Studio (VS). VS is an application used for writing, compiling, and debugging software. You will need it when working with Verse.
With the launcher open, install UEFN.
Search for Unreal Editor for Fortnite.
Click Download.
Follow the steps when prompted.
Once UEFN is downloaded and installed, navigate back to your Library and select Unreal Engine for Fortnite to launch it.
Launching UEFN for the first time may take a few minutes, based on your Internet speed and hardware configurations.
Once launched the first time, you can use the Quick Launch menu to launch.
