MH Groom Cornrow quickly sets up a base for this hairstyle with just a few curves. The same set of curves is used to build the accompanying braids. Before drawing curves a few parameters should be set.
Start with a Guide Groom node.
Set the Tool mode to Draw.
Switch off Collide with Skin. Although the results are more accurate with this option, it often slows down the guide layout process.
In Brush Options set Curve Type to Guide.
Enable Draw on Skin. This will keep the drawn curves on the underlying surface even without the Collide with Skin option.
Set Segment Count to a high enough value that will allow the curves to follow the curvature of the surface nicely.
Create a MH Groom Cornrow node and plugin the first two outputs from Guide Groom to the first two inputs.
In the Guides tab, find and enable Delete Longer Than parameter.
Add MH Groom Braid and wire in the outputs of Guide Groom.
Connect the outputs to MH Groom Guide To Tube.
Follow up with MH Groom Tube Fill.
The last three steps to add braids are the same as in the Braid section.
