Twinmotion supports numerous geometry file formats from most major design applications. This includes the .udatasmith
file format created with the Datasmith Exporter plugins.
Geometry files typically contain meshes and textures, and some of them may contain metadata that you can view in Twinmotion.
When you import geometry files into Twinmotion, you can choose import options to optimize how various properties are handled during the import process, such as how geometry is collapsed, and settings for lights, materials, and UV mapping. The import options can vary depending on the file format of the geometry. For information on the available import options, refer to Import Options.
For information on how to import geometry files, refer to Importing Geometry.
Supported Geometry File Formats
Twinmotion supports the following geometry file formats:
File Format | Description |
---|---|
| You can convert the projects you create in your design application into Datasmith files and import them into Twinmotion using the Datasmith Exporter plugins. For information on how to do this, refer to the Datasmith File Import Workflow. For information on design applications that support this workflow, refer to Supported Design Applications for Datasmith. |
