To create a View set, you modify the visibility status of the elements in a scene using the Scene graph and then save this status in the View sets panel. The current visibility status of the elements in the Scene graph (and consequently the Viewport) are saved in the View set.
There is more than one workflow that you can use to create View sets. The sequence of steps can vary depending on how you prefer to work in Twinmotion. The instructions below are meant to give you an example only of one possible workflow.
Creating a View Set
In the Footer, click Scene to open the Scene panel.
The Scene panel contains the Scene graph, which shows all the elements of the scene. Each element is listed on its own separate layer, or grouped into a layer.
Click View sets in the Footer.
The View sets panel is displayed in the Properties panel.
Depending on what you want to show or hide in the View set, modify the visibility status of elements in the scene by clicking the Eye icon to the left of the elements in the Scene graph. The changes that you make in the Scene graph are reflected in the Viewport.
The Eye icons in the Scene graph
To show or hide several elements in the Scene graph at once, do one of the following:
Click and hold the left mouse button on one of the Eye icons, and then move up or down the Scene graph to show or hide the elements.
Press Ctrl or Shift and select multiple items, and then click one of the Eye icons.
In the View sets panel, click the Add View set icon.
A new View set is created.
For each subsequent View set that you want to create, repeat steps 3 and 4.
You can preview each View set in the Viewport by clicking on each View set in the View sets panel.
Updating View Sets
If you want to update an existing View set, modify the visibility status of the elements in the Scene graph, and then click the Refresh icon next to the View set.
Adding Library Assets to View Sets
You can add assets from the Twinmotion Library to a scene and modify their visibility status for each View set. These Library assets include all the items in the Vegetation and landscape, Objects, Lights, Quixel Megascans, Characters, Vehicles, Tools, and User Library categories.
The Library also contains the Materials and HDRI Environments categories. However, you cannot change the material of an object or the High Dynamic Range Image (HDRI) environment per View set. If you change the material of an object, it will be changed in all the View sets in which the object appears. Likewise, if you select a new HDRI environment for your scene, it will be applied to all the View sets.
If you want to show an object using different materials in each View set, you can create a duplicate of the object, modify the material of the duplicate, and then show or hide the original or the duplicate object depending on the View set you want to create.
Adding Library Assets to Specific View Sets Only
Each View set has a checkbox to the right of its name.
If you add a Library asset to a scene, it will automatically be added to all View sets that have selected checkboxes. To add a Library asset to a specific View set only, deselect the checkboxes of the other View sets in which you don’t want the asset to appear.
In the example below, a Library asset is added to the scene. It is only visible in View set 1, as this View set is the only one that is selected.
Managing View Sets
Each View set has a menu where you can Rename, Delete, and Refresh the View set. You can also use the Move up and Move down commands in the menu to reorganize the View sets.
In the View sets tool, hover over a View set.
Click the ellipsis (...) that appears to the right of the View set.
In the View sets menu, select a command.
