The User library is your own personalized library in Twinmotion. You can use it to save and share several types of assets, including imported external assets and custom assets that you create in Twinmotion.
This document provides an overview of the User library. For information on how to save assets in the User library, refer to Saving Assets in the User Library. For information on how to share the User library, refer to Sharing User Library Assets.
Working With the User Library
In the User library, you can:
Save any type of external asset that can be imported into Twinmotion. For information about the types of files that can be imported into Twinmotion, refer to Supported File Formats in Getting Your Content Into Twinmotion.
Save custom assets you create or modify in Twinmotion, including materials.
Save assets from the Twinmotion, Quixel Megascans, and Sketchfab libraries. This includes materials, objects, High Dynamic Range Images (HDRIs), lights, Reflection probes, and Twinmotion tools such as Rotators, Translators, and Section cubes.
Save assets as a group to easily add them at the same time to a scene.
Manage your assets and organize them into meaningful categories using folders.
When you add an asset to the User library, by default it is saved on your computer in the following location:
Windows:
C:\Users\\[username]\Documents\Twinmotion[version]\UserLibrary
MacOS:
HD:Users:[username]:Documents:Twinmotion[version]:UserLibrary
You can change this location under Custom paths in the Settings tab of the Preferences panel. For more information about the Preferences panel, refer to Twinmotion Preferences.
The User Library and New Twinmotion Installations
When you download and install a new version of Twinmotion, a new installation directory is created on your computer. To maintain access to the assets in the User library, copy them from the User library folder of the previous installation into the User library folder of the new installation.
If the User Library is shared on a network folder, make sure to change the location of the folder in the Preferences panel.
When you download and install a new version of Twinmotion, a new installation directory is created on your computer. To maintain your access to the assets in the User library of the previous Twinmotion version, do as follows:

In File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (MacOS), go to the User library folder of the previous Twinmotion installation.
Select and copy the assets in the folder.

If you are sharing the User library with other Twinmotion users on a network:
