Project files, including images and models, are stored locally on your device. Images are saved immediately after you start capturing them, while the model becomes available after the project processing is complete.
Each new project is considered a new session, and each session has its own folder on your device.
Android
Project files can typically be found in the following location, though there might be slight variations between different phone models:
My Files -> Device storage -> Android -> Data -> com.epicgames.realityscan
If you encounter access restrictions to the Data folder, tap the "View" button to see the items within. This will open a different file explorer, but the folder structure remains the same. From there, navigate to:
Android -> Data -> com.epicgames.realityscan
Each project is named after the corresponding session ID, which can be found at the bottom of the application settings while you are still working on that project.
iOS
To find the project files on your iOS device navigate to:
Files -> On My iPhone -> RealityScan -> Captures
All files are stored chronologically with the date and time the session started as the folder's name.
Files
In each folder, you can find:
The images in HEIF format (or JPG on Android—check Application settings)
The corresponding thumbnail images
A project file in the JSON format
The cropping box files
The point cloud and camera files
The AR files
A subfolder with the model and texture files
The model and corresponding texture files (diffuse and normal) are located in the model subfolder. On iOS, your model will be stored in OBJ format, and on Android, it will be stored in GLB format.
