With Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) you can import assets from Fab or other gaming asset marketplaces. Using third-party content is both a way to expand your island beyond the familiar Fortnite aesthetic, and a way to promote other creators by using their creations.
Giving attribution to asset creators is an important part of the island publishing process. Attribution means sourcing the creator’s content you used in your project and having those attributions visible in game.
Please keep in mind that the Attribution Tool has been provided for creator convenience only. You are responsible for complying with the requirements of any licenses you are a party to and Epic does not guarantee that the Attribution Tool will meet those requirements.
Adding Attribution
During the publishing flow you'll be asked to provide attribution for all third party assets used in your project. To source attribution, click the Add Attribution button in the Publish form. The Attribution popup apears where you enter all the attribution information into each field.
The following information is required for the Attribution fields, up to 50 total attributions:
-
Content Title.
-
Content Source (URL where the content can be found.)
-
Content Author.
-
License holder name.
-
License type.
Click Add Attribution for each asset you used.
Inspect an asset in Fab and you’ll find the information on the right-side of the inspection panel that you need to complete the Attribution form on Creator Portal. You may have to search for the required information in other marketplaces to fill out the attribution form.
The information and links you provided are added to your project’s island details page on fortnite.com. However, only the information you provide for an asset’s attribution is available through Discover in Fortnite.
The attribution tool currently supports a maximum of 50 attributions. If you need to make more than 50 attributions, or if you need to make an attribution that the attribution tool does not support, you may link to your own attributions webpage using the attribution tool: use one of the URL fields in the form to link to your own attributions webpage!
