Epic Online Services (EOS) Game Achievements

Epic Achievements builds on the Achievements interface for additional Epic Games-specific functionality such as XP and tracking at the Epic Games player level.

Epic Achievements are an additional aspect of the Achievements interface, but are not the same.

EOS Game Achievements manages the progress and unlocking of achievements of your users on any platform with a variety of account systems.

These achievements are either based on the EOS Stats interface or via direct API calls. They are purposely platform agnostic, but can be a backend solution to drive platform-based achievement unlocking.

Epic Achievements

Epic Achievements are built on top of EOS Game Achievements, and leverage the same SDK and Developer Portal for configuration. Additionally:

  • You must have EOS Game Achievements setup to create and link the associated Epic Achievement.

  • Epic Achievements add Epic ecosystem-specific functionality, such as experience points (XP) and tracking at the Epic player level.

  • Epic Achievements display on a game's details page in the Epic Games Launcher.

  • They also appear on the game details page and its associated achievement details page (ADP).

  • In a player's in-game social overlay with both types of achievements, the Epic Achievements show up but the EOS Game Achievements do not.

    • You can build your own UI/UX around the EOS Game Achievements APIs.

  • To change the achievement text or images, follow the normal publishing flow.

Once an achievement is live, you cannot delete it or adjust its XP. To delete an achievement, you must contact Epic Games support.

XP (Experience Points) Requirements

  • Each game must have exactly 1000 total XP, regardless of how many achievements are included.

    • You cannot push from dev to stage if you have more or less than 1000 XP.

    • Your XP total is available in your main Epic Achievements tab above the achievements table.

    • You will receive an error message when you try to add more or less than 1000 XP for a game.

  • XP for each achievement is set in multiples of 5 points (5, 10, 15… 100, 110, 200, etc.).

    • There are XP ranges for bronze (5-45 XP), silver (50-95 XP) and gold (100-200 XP).

    • The minimum XP for a single achievement is 5 and the maximum is 200.

Support for DLC, additional content, and higher XP values is planned in a future update.
